They didn't break any sp...Great article Derek! They didn't break any speed records going over the mountains in 1940 and before! The speed limit between Los Gatos and Eva<br />in Los Gatos Canyon was 20 MPH and between Eva and Santa Cruz it was 25 MPH. It took Train 32 an hour and 10 minutes to go from Los Gatos to Santa Cruz in 1937, not very competitive with Highway 17 even then! The distance was 24.9 miles.Duncan Nanneynoreply@blogger.com
